Brian D. King is President of King-Reed & Associates Inc.™ and operates from our Central Division in Toronto. Mr. King, who was one of the founding partners in 1984, is a criminology graduate who became a licensed Private Investigator in 1979. Prior to founding King-Reed, he worked in various investigative capacities, including Supervisor of Operations in Northern Ontario for a national claims investigation firm, and later Director of Investigations for Southern Alberta.

Mr. King has had several articles published on high profile cases which he has worked on such matters as police shootings, high profile missing persons cases, large scale fraud investigations and surveillance techniques, as well as international fraud organizations. He has testified in numerous court-related matters and was declared an expert witness in investigative techniques in 1992 by a coroner’s inquest into a fatality involving a police shooting.

Extremely active in industry matters, Mr. King has served on various executive capacities within industry associations and currently holds a position of a Senior Partner of Investigations Canada, a national affiliation of Investigation and Security consulting firms. He is a past President and Chairman of the Board of the Council of International Investigators (C.I.I.). Currently he sits on C.I.I.’s Board and is Chair of their Strategic Plan Committee. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), a current Member of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS), the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) and is a Charter Member of the Global Investigators’ Network (GIN), which is an international Internet group of private investigators. Currently he is Vice-President of the Council of Private Investigators – Ontario and sits as Chair of their Privacy Committee.

Mr. King is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer on various industry matters involving private investigators and is continually working to upgrade the public image of this profession. He was presented with the “Investigator of the Year” award in 1997 by the Global Investigators’ Network at their annual conference in Chicago, Illinois. Most recently in September 2003, he was awarded the prestigious “International Investigator of the Year” by the Council of International Investigators in Kinsale, Ireland. This is considered one of the most renowned investigative awards worldwide. Mr. King’s business travels have included the Far East, Singapore, Great Britain, Ireland, Northern Africa, Australia, U.S. and Mexico where he has developed a number of international contacts. He has excellent contacts with investigators throughout North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
